Nate Sheppard is an award-winning composer and filmmaker and multimedia performing artist based in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

He has worked on a wide range of projects such as feature documentaries, short films, commercials, and multimedia art installations.

He is also co-owner of The Hilgermann Center for Community, founder of the Northwoods Film Office of Wisconsin, creator and host of a late-night talk show called The Nate Show, co-host of the Art Within Podcast, and curator of the Northwoods Filmmaking Society.

Nate is available for hire with extensive experience in videography, editing, sound design, music production, soundtrack composition, live sound engineering and more. If you have a project you need help with or just want to connect, please reach out.

Local friends! I'm starting to put together this winter's greenhouse concert series at @forthfloral and I'm looking for musicians to fill out the roster. I'm so thrilled to announce that SCAPEGOAT (a horror short film I shot and edited) was been nominated for 4 categories at the @milwaukeeindependentfilmawards this weekend: Best Horror Short, Best Thriller/Action Short, Best Costuming/Makeup, and Best Music*! Shot some great stuff this weekend with these two. #huntingseason i know it’s snowing or whatever but i'm still dreaming of these classic #novembervibes from southern wisconsin... November vibes. (And a sneak peek at a new film project.) Last month the @northwoodsveteranshomestead hired me to make a short documentary about their efforts to build a sustainable community to help veterans in need of support in the northwoods. You can watch the full short film using the link in my bio! Uff da! It’s going to be quite a week for us in the Sheppard house, but we’re excited for all these wonderful events (and they’re all free)! Another example of what I do for a living depending on the week: I’m running sound and lights at @nicoletcollege_arts_enrichment for their latest theater production, “Suite Surrender,” which opens tonight! Sometimes people ask what I do for a living and I like to say “depends on the week.” This past week it was digitizing cassette tapes. I’m considering offering more services related to digitizing analog media, so if you’ve got something you’d like to preserve, let’s chat!
