FILM SYNOPSIS
THE RIVER is 40 minute documentary that chronicles the journey of two brothers, Nate and Michael Sheppard, as they return to their hometown of Elk River, Minnesota to revisit their childhood. Along the way, they stop at key locations and reflect on their complicated relationship to the past, laying to rest what was lost and reclaiming certain memories as a source of inspiration and healing for their adult lives.
